Our Makeup Removers

Although your normal cleanser should cut through most face make up, some makeup can be tougher to remove and requires a specialty product to help remove all traces. If your lifestyle includes the occasional heavy makeup night with multiple coats of mascara or other heavy application of various makeup products, it's probably best to keep a makeup remover around.

Gentle Overall Makeup Removal - Spread the makeup remover on a tissue or cotton ball, apply it to the area, and tissue off with an extremely light touch. Always use delicate, gliding movements when caring for your skin to avoid wear and tear. If your too heavy handed, the day-in and day-out pull on the skin will eventually cause your skin to loose tone.
  • Additional Method for Gentle Removal of Makeup
    • Wash your face in warm, not hot, water to loosen clogged pores and stimulate blood circulation to the skin
    • Wet the face, then apply a quarter sized amount of remover to the palm of you hands, rub your hands together, and gently move them in circles around your face.
    • Rinse with cool, not icy, water to tighten the pores. Water that is too hot or too cold can cause broken capillaries.

Removing Eye Makeup - The more eye makeup you wear, the more important it is to use a specially formulated makeup remover suitable for the eye area. This makes it much easier to remove even the stubborn of waterproof or tearproof products without pulling or dragging the sensitive skin around the eyes. If you do not remove all traces of eye makeup whenever you wear it, pores will become blocked, which may lead to pimples. It is best to always use a clean cotton ball, tissue, or cotton swab for each eye.
  • To remove makeup from the lids and brows, use the tip of your third finger to stroke on remover gently using small circular movements. Alternatively, use a cotton swab soaked in makeup remover following the same gentle movements.
  • Gently wipe off the remover from the lids and brows with a cotton ball or soft tissue, working from the inner corner to the outer corner of the eye. Again, do not rub or drag the skin.
  • To remove mascara, dab a little remover onto a tissue and wrap it around your index finger. Brush the tissue through the lashes from underneath. Repeat until all traces are gone.
  • For the corner of the eye and lower lash line, use a cotton swab dipped in the remover. Afterward, lightly pat the whole eye area dry with a soft tissue.

Removing Lip Makeup - Always make sure that you remove lip makeup thoroughly to prevent the skin on your lips from becoming dry and rough. Lips need to be regularly moisturized too: they are particularly susceptible to the drying effects of the sun and wind because they do not have large amounts of natural defenses of their own. If lips are moisturized properly, it is much easier to apply lip makeup smoothly and evenly and will also help products stay on much better.
  • To remove lip makeup, pour a little makeup remover onto a damp cotton ball or tissue and gently wipe in an inward direction, working from each corner to the middle of your lips. Lightly pat dry with a tissue.
  • After removing lip makeup, use a moisturizing lip balm or treatment for added softness.
  • Once a week, exfoliate the lips to help brush off dead skin and stimulate blood circulation. Exfoliation helps stimulate cell turnover and keeps lips looking smooth, soft and healthy. We recommend our Natural Exfoliating Lip Scrub for weekly treatments.
